Could someone explain to me the statement from the challenge: side length = 3 > shortest distance = 6 I think if the side length = 3, the shortest distance should be: 3*sqrt(2)+3 = 7.24264068712 http://securityoverride.org/challenges/programming/4/index.php http://securityoverride.org/challenges/programming/4/cube.jpg

lets just say that the line you need to find is not on any rib of the cube. try to find another way cause its possible.

I think if the side length = 3, the shortest distance should be: 3*sqrt(2)+3 = 7.24264068712 Why do you think that should be 7.2, Or in other words explain why: 3*sqrt(2)+3 If I understand the formular I can may point out what your error is. [b]3*sqrt(2) is the length of the diagonal of one of the squares, 3 is the side length of the cube . are you sure that's the SHORTEST? pretend 2 sides of the cube are a larger rectangle instead of 2 squares. that should be good enough to get you started.

I have found a shorter path: 3*sqrt(5) = 6.7 but its nearest whole number is not 6 .

That could mean anything. Some formular which discibe what you do would be helpfull. I mean it is like when I wrote. I did this: 3*2 = 6 but it is not the answer 2. I can just repeat the hint from above. pretend 2 sides of the cube are a larger rectangle instead of 2 squares. 3. Enter the final number rounded down to the nearest whole number In other words. 6.7 would become 6 Join our IRC channal! irc.evilzone.org #Evilzone #SecurityOverride This dude doesn't answer to PM..no matter how special you think you are...sry "With great power comes great responsibility"
